Clean, classic lines and straightforward appreciation for the bike in its essential components separate the Noble Fixie Track Bike from just about any other two-wheeled road bike out there. Coming from the unique Andorran company Focale 44 a member of the BMX Groupment, the Noble is pared down to the essential elements: Chromo frame and forks; track-style handlebar and stem; Campagnolo style headset; sealed alloy hubs and sealed ball bearings; and 32-hole alloy rims among other elements. The Noble is a "fixie" bike--meaning that it has no freewheel and therefore the pedals are always in motion when the bicycle is moving or coasting. With this fixed freewheel design, the cyclist can stop without using a brake, by resisting the rotation of the cranks, and also ride the bike in reverse. However, the Noble does come with a 16T freewheel as well as Tektro brake calipers and Tektro cyclocross style brake levers included but not assembled on bike for more standard riding. Additional features include a plastic BMX style seat, Wellgo BMX plastic pedals with Chromo axles, and 700c Innovar tires. Weighing in at approximately 23 pounds, this bike is ready to take on the road and run up and down the stairs with you.

I was looking for a steel bike to ride around NYC. A classic steel frame (chromoly not hi tensile) steel) and came across the focale 44 bikes. I liked the look, simple, clean, no stickers but couldn't find any in depth reviews. Purchased the Noble at a super discounted price. I am not disappointed!THE GOOD:Very responsive steel frame and fork, welds look good, integrated (sealed bearings) HS,laser etched logo, weld-on seat post clamp. Very responsive steel fork. Sealed bearing hubs. Did I mention I like the paint job and lack of stickers? Great ride quality. Handle bar/stem combo (provided it fits you) Rides great. (previously owned Single speed/fixies, Bianchi Pista, Felt Borough, Raleigh Rush hour)THE NOT SO GOOD: Cheap, single wall rims, so far no problems (about 200 miles of rough riding), platform pedals (personal preference) washers on front and rear wheel a pain to replace wheels fast, a bit annoying, on the upside, the rear wheel does not slipTHE BAD: Seat post (steel) and seat (personal preference) = boat anchors, need to be replaced immediatelyVerdict: if you can find a great deal on it - go for it.ABOUT THE REVIEWER: 150lbs, ~4000mi/per year (90% Road bike, 10% Mnt bike, not counting city bike), run 40mi/week
