Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Everybody’s got a dark side. For Charlie Sheen, it involves women and illicit substances. For Luke Skywalker, it was the Force. Some, however, prefer to show their preference for both evil and Espanol by riding El Diablo. Red rims and a black frame make this the perfect addition to your villainous fleet. (Even Satan himself can’t afford gas right now.)Retrospec was founded in 2009 in downtown Los Angeles to fulfill the need for a fixed-gear urban bicycle with transportation and style in mind. All of our frames are tig-welded and are available in many colors to fit your own unique style. We only use top quality components such as: Double walled super deep V wheels, 3 piece cranks, CST High Performance tires, Kraton rubber grips, riser style handlebars and KMC chains. With distribution on 6 continents and an ever-growing product line up, Retrospec is committed to providing you with a bike that is not only durable, but affordable as well.

[EDITTED OCTOBER 9TH]I love riding fixie and I love the look of the bike. It's super light and fast, and attracts lots of attention. Awesome! But...When I received the bike, the front fork didn't fit. I took pictures and emailed Retrospec requesting a new fork. The response was:"It looks like this got slightly bent during shipping. A bike shop can fix this very easily. You may want to take it in to one. Let us know if this solves the problem."So I guess they wanted me to spend money my money fixing their problem?Anyways, I took it to my college bike shop were we can work on our own bikes for free. Under the recommendation and consensus of the local bike experts, I filed down the part was wasn't fitting. I thought it was fixed (so I emailed them back and said "fixed!"The bike never would stay upright when I took my hands off the handle bars. It took me awhile to realize that it wasn't me - I had some friends try it out. I could lean way far to one side to compensate, but it would only work for a few seconds before it would lean over way too far. I don't know what caused it, but it probably had something to do with the steering column.Furthermore, the tires that came on it were so cheap that within a month of very short rides they were already falling apart. All of this together bothered me enough that I decided to get rid of it.I'm now riding my friends road bike, but I'll ride a fixie again someday, but I cannot buy from Retrospec again. I did not feel comfortable requesting anything after riding it for a month. If they would have just sent me a new fork to begin with, everything might have been fine.Hope this story is somewhat helpful in making your decision.
