Musicians understand the relevance of Miles Davis and his effect on today’s rock scene. What few people realize is how much his second wife, Betty, influenced him and shaped his career. The former model was friends with Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone, both of whom she introduced to Miles. Their relationship is credited with ushering in the jazz fusion era. Though their marriage lasted only a year and some change, her fingerprints are all over his later albums. Far from a blushing wallflower, Betty recorded three albums in the 70’s and released a new one in 2009. The Betty Davis bike -- a pink frame with one black and one white tire -- is an homage to her musical legacy and her effect on modern rock. Retrospec was founded in 2009 in downtown Los Angeles to fulfill the need for a fixed-gear urban bicycle with transportation and style in mind. I was searching for bikes and i came across this one, i fell in love immediately! I ordered two. Once I received them, one came very well packaged and the other one came with the packaging destroyed, terrible. Luckily it did not affect the bike. I read from other reviews that they were easy to put together, I attempted and it was quite difficult. Other than this complaint, I love how they look, how they feel and how they ride. I was able to find a video on youtube on how to build these bikes and so hopefully they can help whoever reads this review. I gave up and just ended paying $50 dollars each to have them assembled at my local bike tech. I hope this review helps.
